We’re BAAAAAACK! (well, that is NOT the “NEWS FLASH”!)
After our very special “JFK family reunion” event last October, we took a much needed ‘break’ from our blog. it was intended as… a “little break” but a funny thing happened during our ‘hiatus’… in true ‘scarlett o’hara’ form, whenever we would talk about what to do next, our decision inevitably was, “we’ll think about it tomorrow…” so the days turned to weeks, and the weeks turned to months…. and “to post, or not to post…” became THE question… were OTHER questions….)
We had some additional entries and profiles that had been previously planned, but we never had the time to put them on the blog PRIOR to the reunion… so what do we do with them, now?!
we have more ‘EVENT’ material and news to share and to post… but isn’t it ‘moot’ now that SO much time has passed since the reunion?
and finally….it’s been so long since everything took place… would anyone really care after all this time?
…but to our great surprise, 7 months AFTER the EVENT we realized that people continued to visit the blog!!! ~~~
still…what would the impetus be, to ‘begin again’?
and then, we found the PERFECT answer… we are SO happy to re activate our blog in support of a very special part of our ‘JFK Family’. we DO have exciting ‘NEWS’ , specifically for the CLASS OF 1971 ALUMNI!!!
We recently received the following note…

LOVE…truly WAS all around us, on that ‘magical’ night. And from what we’ve heard, that feeling has stayed with many of you who were there. just a little something to remember from our very special night… like a drummer, who plays different rhythms simultaneously to create ONE beat, or the orchestral composition, who’s individual musicians play different passages, to create one beautiful piece of music, the JFK FAMILY REUNION… created a synergy of hearts, that BEAT as ONE… and LOVE was most definitely…and most abundantly, in the air, o n that memorable evening. True School Spirit NEVER fades…….. Carol Vasquez Bowen (’72) Songleader doing one of ALL pep squads “FAVORITE things”…… PAINTING SIGNS!!!!!!!!!!! (do felt tip markers count?) Getting the SPORTS lounge all ‘dressed up’! Still ‘Got it’ goin’ on….. Madeleine Mendoza Valencerina (’72) Cheerleader and Homecoming Queen TPS staff members get that FIGHTING IRISH SPIRIT TOO!!!! ‘Memo’ working on our MEMORABILIA wall Things are coming together! Madeleine and Robin Sekiguchi, (72) HEAD cheerleader “is it martini time?”
From the MOMENT that we decided to do the SPORTS LOUNGE… This became Robin’s ‘little baby’. She worked TIRELESSLY on creating the photo walls… making sure to include EACH sport, and EVERY year, which had representation in some way. And once she found out that Naomi was bringing in LOCKERS for that room?!… well, the ‘little cheerleader’ in her, kicked in… full throttle!!! Streamers, balloons, and SIGNS…just AMAZING!!!!
