And now a LOVE STORY for all of us romantics….

CLICK TO PLAY

Just about a year ago, I saw some pictures that Gary Cram posted from a football reunion.  When I saw the picture of Mick, it brought back so many fond memories and my heart started beating fast just like it did in high school J.  We had such crushes on each other while in high school.  But as you all know, he traveled in the fast lane.  My lane, was much slower. We went out once (Crescent Bay, picture below) and had a good time, but that’s where it ended.

The picture prompted me to reach out to him to see how he was.  I was very surprised to find him on Facebook. Within a week, we were on the phone daily with each other.  Both of our marriages had ended, and we had a lot of catchingup to do.  That was April 2010, and we were falling in love with each other over the phone.  Finally, I gave in, and agreed to let him come see me after 3 months of him begging and groveling!!

He arrived here on July 2nd, 2010.  I showed up at the airport in my cheerleading uniform and he was hooked. (again)  LOL    And, I’ve never been the same.

We worked on our ‘long distance’ relationship for the next 9 months, but it was very difficult on both of us (phone sex got very old ) even though we saw each other nine times going back and forth.  We started making plans for our future.  Since his work (pool contracting business) was pretty much dead in CA, we decided it best for him to move here, with an open mind.  If that wasn’t going to work (you know, it does rain in Seattle!) we would consider moving back to CA.

He arrived here April 20 (after me begging and groveling for 9 months), and has become an official Washingtonian with web feet.  One month later, we are happier than we’ve ever been, continuing to make plans for ‘our’ future and feel very fortunate that we have rekindled this friendship, turning it into an awesome romance, at this stage in our lives.

Obviously, he moved into a slower lane, I moved into a faster lane.

I guess you’d say we are now traveling in the middle lane!

Life is good.

Our advice for everyone out there –

follow your dreams and your heart!

Mick wants me to point out that he really only got on his knees ONCE

to beg while groveling.

(that part is Mick’s input)

We were SO thrilled to feature our first ‘romance’,

and thank cheri and mick,  for allowing us to present their

wonderful story on our blog….

wishing you all love and much joy

until we meet again…

debi & reiko
